Jose Mourinho’s first game in charge of Tottenham Hotspur was a successful one, despite his side only edging past West Ham 3-2 at the London Stadium.

Son Heung-min opened the scoring for the away side in the 36th minute, after West Ham goalkeeper failed to keep out the shot, which was struck straight at him.

A few minutes before the end of the half and Lucas Moura doubled his sides advantage over West Ham-Dele Ali brilliantly kept the ball in play and enabled Son to produce a teasing cross, which saw Moura tap in his second league goal of the season.

Harry Kane made it three after showing plenty of desire to get in front of Ogbonna and to head Serge Aurier’s cross past a bamboozled Roberto.

The Hammers nearly managed to claw their way back into the game though-substitute Michael Antonio fired the ball past Spurs keeper Gazzaniga, and defender Angelo Ogbonna towered over the Spurs defence to head in a last-minute goal, although it was not enough to get a point for their efforts.

Despite the last ditch scare from the home side, Jose Mourinho will be pleased with his sides performance.

Mourinho lifts Spurs

Jose Mourinho’s introduction as the new Tottenham Hotspur managed appeared to lift his side in their first match together.

Dele Ali looked like the Dele Ali of previous years and dominated the first half where he registered his first assist of the season.

Serge Aurier was another who had one of their best games in a Spurs shirt for a long time-the Ivorian whipped in a delicious cross for Harry Kane who scored the third for Tottenham and put himself 3rd in Tottenham’s all-time leading goal scorers.

However, when a new manager comes in, every player will give 110% to try and get into the starting 11, so is the Spurs improved performance misleading or has Mourinho’s magic manufactured the revival of Tottenham’s top 4 hopes?

Pellegrini next for the axe?

Former Spurs manager was the next manager to be given the sack in the Premier League, but Manuel Pellegrini may receive the axe if results don’t change.

The Hammers are now 7 games without a win (2 draws and 5 losses) and are in need of 3 points desperately.

Substitute Michael Antonio boosted the home side with a bullet strike to make it 3-1, but The Hammers lacked threatening energy when attacking the Tottenham backline.

Change needs to happen at West Ham, but I don’t think the manager role is where it should begin.

Since Roberto has stood in for the injured Fabianski, Roberto has conceded 15 goals in 7 games-terrible signing for West Ham and for the next fixture third choice keeper David Martin should be wearing the gloves.

Just makes you wonder why they let Adrian go…especially considering how well he did when he stood in for Alisson.

Man of the Match: Son Heung-min (Tottenham Hotspur)

Serge Aurier was in contention for this, however Son’s goal, that should’ve been saved, became 10x more important when the home side scored their late goal to make it 2-3.

He assisted Lucas Moura’s second of the season with a terrific cross into the danger area and his pace caused problems for the West Ham backline throughout the match.

Impressive performance by the South Korean international in front of his new manager, but with the skill's he possess, he'll always be one of the first names on the team sheet.

What's next for both sides?

West Ham's chances to end their winless run becomes even tougher as they face Chelsea on the 30th November at Stamford Bridge, whilst new Spurs boss Jose Mourinho will manage his first home game for the club in the champions league against Olympiacos on Tuesday.
